4 1/2 Questions with Darren Riddle

It’s time for your weekly 4 ½ Questions!!

For those of you who haven’t been  paying attention over the last few months, that’s 4 specific, getting-to-know questions from the PA On Stage team — and one partial question that our interviewees can ‘make their own.’

This week? 4 ½ Questions shines a spotlight on actor Darren Riddle, who will be appearing in Theatre Harrisburg’s production of Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike, which opens this weekend and runs through June 19.

1. Name something you think is either overrated or underrated: 

How about both!?  Overrated - Instagram.  Underrated - face to face communication.

2. If you could change places with one celebrity (of any field) for 24 hours, who would it be?

Any male celeb with a nice, healthy head of hair! No...I would probably choose Chris Hemsworth. But only if I get to have Thor's superpowers! Sidenote: nobody should be that tall and handsome and act and is also very cool and not stuck on himself! 

3. What is your guilty pleasure movie?

I have faaaar too many but here are a few of my go-to's: Tin Cup, The Hunt for Red October, and As Good As It Gets

4. If you had the ability to recover one inanimate object that you've lost in your life, what would it be?

My entire original collection of Star Wars figurines. I don't even want to think about how much they'd be worth today. 

… And the ½ Question: What is your least…

…favorite thing you do that must be done?  Quarterly cancer screenings. Partly because of the process but mostly it's the anxious moments until the doctor tells me the results of the half day of scans and blood work.

You keep a positive mindset but the creeping doubts always try to find their way into my brain. After the "all clear" then it's my favorite thing because my wife and I go celebrate with a very decadent comfort food (and drink) and usually a movie.
