About the Show:
What does it mean to love another person?
In Love’s Labour’s Lost, four men vow (foolishly) to refrain from all of life’s pleasures in pursuit of rigorous intellectual achievement. Soon, they find themselves in the awkward position of having fallen in love against their wills – as they claim – with four witty and wonderful women who have invaded their sacred academe.
With an unconventional twist, Shakespeare suggests that true love takes both time and action to prove itself genuine. It may be one of the most honest views of love in any of Shakespeare’s plays.
Join us for our inaugural Shakespeare-in-the-Park production in Musser Park, and the first produced under our new name: Lancaster Shakespeare Theatre!
Audience members are encouraged to "pay what they will," bring a lawn chair, and, if they really want to get into the spirit, dress for the Roaring Twenties!
Set against the backdrop of the Jazz Age (and the Lancaster Museum of Art portico), Love’s Labour’s Lost and live music will have audience members dancing The Charleston and partying like it's 1924!
Performances will be held in Musser Park,135 N Lime St, Lancaster, PA..
